Description: The Maverick series is one of the top-performing geraniums on the market, prized for its vigorous growth, uniform habit, and enormous flower clusters. ‘Apple blossom’ produces stunning double blooms in gentle shades of pink and white that resemble fresh apple blossoms—perfect for soft, romantic garden palettes. These 3" potted plants are greenhouse-started and ready to give you an early jump on the season.

Geraniums in the Maverick series are exceptionally heat- and drought-tolerant once established, making them excellent choices for containers or garden beds in the Intermountain West. They perform beautifully in full sun but appreciate a bit of afternoon shade during the hottest part of Utah summers. The foliage is attractive, rounded, and scalloped, providing nice texture even when not in full bloom.

Transplanting Instructions:

  1. Timing: Transplant outdoors after the last frost date (typically mid-May in northern Utah).
  2. Hardening Off: Gradually acclimate plants to outdoor conditions over 7–10 days by placing them outside for increasing amounts of time each day.
  3. Planting: Choose a site with well-draining soil. Gently remove the plant from the 3" pot, loosen the root ball slightly, and plant at the same depth it was growing in the pot. Space plants 12–14 inches apart.
  4. Watering & Care: Water thoroughly after planting and keep soil evenly moist (but not soggy) until established. Once established, allow the top inch of soil to dry slightly between waterings. Fertilize monthly with a balanced liquid fertilizer. Deadhead spent blooms regularly to encourage continuous flowering all season.
  5. Overwintering: In fall, plants can be brought indoors to a sunny window or cool garage for overwintering and replanted the following spring.
