Description The Geranium (Violet) is a classic zonal geranium featuring rich, eye-catching violet-purple semi-double flowers clustered above attractive green foliage. These 3" potted plants are vigorous, heat- and drought-tolerant once established, and make excellent additions to flower beds, window boxes, pots, and mixed containers.

Transplanting Instructions

  1. Wait until after the last spring frost (typically mid-to-late May in Utah) when soil has warmed.
  2. Choose a spot with full sun to partial sun and well-draining soil (amend heavy clay with compost).
  3. Gently remove the plant from its 3" pot, loosen the roots slightly, and plant at the same depth as the pot.
  4. Space plants 14-16 inches apart.
  5. Water thoroughly after planting and keep soil consistently moist (but not soggy) for the first 2 weeks.
  6. Water when the top inch of soil feels dry; avoid overhead watering to prevent disease.
  7. Fertilize every 2-4 weeks with a balanced liquid fertilizer during the growing season. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage more flowers.
  8. In fall, plants can be overwintered indoors in a sunny window or discarded as annuals.

These plants thrive in containers and are low-maintenance favorites for bright, long-lasting color.
