Description

The Maverick Orange Hybrid Geranium is a standout performer in the popular Maverick™ series. Known for its uniform growth, large flower heads, and excellent garden performance, this variety delivers eye-catching, vivid orange blooms that stand out in any landscape. The plants form neat, rounded mounds of scalloped green foliage topped with 4–5" globe-like flower clusters. Heat- and humidity-tolerant, they thrive in hot summers and continue blooming reliably from late spring right up to frost.

Transplanting Instructions

  1. Timing: Transplant outdoors after all danger of frost has passed (typically mid-May in Utah). Harden off plants for 7–10 days by gradually exposing them to outdoor conditions.
  2. Site Preparation: Choose a location with full sun and well-draining soil. Amend heavy clay with compost or perlite for better drainage.
  3. Planting: Gently remove the plant from its 3" pot. Dig a hole slightly larger than the root ball. Place the plant so the top of the root ball is level with the soil surface. Backfill and firm the soil gently. Water thoroughly.
  4. Spacing: Plant 12–14" apart for optimal air circulation and fullness.
  5. Aftercare: Water regularly until established (keep soil moist but not soggy). Once established, allow the top inch of soil to dry between waterings. Fertilize every 2–4 weeks with a balanced liquid fertilizer. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage continuous flowering. Protect from frost in fall or bring indoors as a houseplant.

These 3" potted plants are perfect for quick color in pots or direct garden planting and will fill out beautifully within weeks.
